ISLAM-CHRISTIAN DIALOGUE

9 Dear reader, I present you with a collection of published articles accompanied by reflections and comments that I have explored in depth in the last years of my active life. They com- plement the books that I have published on the relationship between populations of different faiths and cultures from the Arab and Muslim world, without forgetting to focus on the situation of Christians in the Arab world from which I come. These are points of view that I have tried to communicate in the best possible way in order to en- courage coexistence, to promote a social inclusion of the migratory flow from the Arab Muslim world and to raise public awareness of human rights in the Muslim world and the ongoing discrimination against citizens of different faiths. Egyptian with Lebanese Syrian great-grandparents, I was encouraged to know the meaning of the customs and traditions of the peoples with whom I had contact, trying to know their history without remaining trapped. I invite the reader to continue to look to the past with an open eye to the contemporary world, to see memories as a magnifying glass to scrutinize the present time with the ability to integrate elements of other cultures that can enrich you to design the future. I hope that reading these articles and reflections will help the reader to persevere in improving the environment around him and the society where he lives, wherever he may be. I would like to thank my wife Clotilde who has remained by my side with our four children, supporting my professional and literary activities with self-denial and loyalty.
